Celebrating Nagcarlan’s Next Generation of Growers
Bridging Minds and Aspirations
On October 7, 2023, NutriHydro carved a significant milestone in the realm of hydroponic cultivation by organizing a Fellowship Luncheon. Held at the serene Camp Yambo, this gathering assembled an impressive roster of hydroponic experts and community growers from the Nagcarlan Growers community, which was founded on October 29, 2022, and already boasts a robust and ever-growing membership. The Luncheon served as a forum for discussions about the hydroponics industry’s present challenges and future opportunities. Their representative head, Mr. Rodger Coronado, was one of the distinguished keynote speakers at the luncheon, further underlining the close collaboration and shared objectives between NutriHydro and the Nagcarlan Growers.
The Nagcarlan Hydroponic Growers stand out not just for their phenomenal growth rate but for the vision they embrace. The community epitomizes unity, setting aside competition to standardize prices and cultivation techniques. This unison ensures uniformly exceptional quality, appearance, and cleanliness in their produce. Their ethos goes beyond individual growth. When one member’s stock depletes, others step in, reflecting a cohesive bond. Instead of mere growers, they view themselves as collective cultivators, supplying produce across vast regions. This unity, bolstered by their drive to inspire and support budding growers, makes them an agricultural force to reckon with.
Sharing Knowledge: When Experts Take the Stage
Keynote speakers for the day included industry stalwarts like Mr. Rodger Coronado, Mr. Fernando Algozo, and Mr. Nathan Miguel. Each speaker offered a unique blend of wisdom, experience, and future-forward thinking.
Elevating Hydroponics: The Fernando Algozo Story
The pinnacle of the event came when Fernando Algozo took the podium. Owner of Alfrea’s Hydroponics & Garden, located at VI-E (Pob.), City of San Pablo, Laguna, Fernando captivated the audience with revelations about his 300 sqm greenhouse generating Php 150,000 in revenue despite not being fully operational. The farm is open to receive any enquiries, serving as an epitome of what hydroponic cultivation can achieve. He emphasized how essential proper nutrient management and guidance are for achieving exceptional yields. Fernando, like other leading growers in the Nagcarlan community, bears testimony to the impactful difference using NutriHydro’s water soluble plant nutrients
Fernando’s most surprising moment was his disclosure that a single lettuce could weigh as much as 400 grams without bolting. His crops not only delivered in terms of yield but also exhibited cleaner and pesticide-free characteristics, embodying both quality and safety. This striking success story served as a living advertisement for the efficacy of NutriHyro’s specialized nutrient solutions.
The Art and Science Behind Hydroponic Success
Jonathan Mabini, affectionately known in the community as Nathan Miguel, brought a unique flavor to the gathering. Revered for his methodical cultivation techniques, Nathan’s keynote merged art with science. Through a lens of meticulous observations and well-documented experiments, he highlighted the precision required in hydroponics. His insights on processes, from photosynthesis to nutrient management, spotlighted the underlying science that powers the community’s success, aligning with NutriHydro’s emphasis on research and development.
The Power of Community
Rodger, Fernando, and Nathan extended an open invitation to the Nagcarlan Growers and other enthusiasts to learn from their greenhouses. This gesture echoed the day’s recurring theme: community growth through shared knowledge.
In summary, the Fellowship Luncheon was an occasion that served as a catalyst for community unity, collaborative learning, and enterprising the capacity of different growers together.
Christopher Tuason from NutriHydro describes the Nagcarlan Hydroponic Growers as “Brilliant people teaming together to execute a brilliant plan”.
